Cool down your material

It’s almost the middle of July, and the heat index will only be increasing for the next month or two.  Depending on what geographical area you reside in, summers can be brutal not only on your skin, but also on you wardrobe decisions.  The last thing you want to be doing is sporting a gorgeous suit that does the opposite of making you look good, because it's out of season due to the type of material it is.  Now, let me make this clear for those who do not know the difference between seersucker and linen. These are two different materials, which give off two different looks.

* Linen is woven from the stems of flax, a vegetable fiber.
* Has twice the strength of cotton.
* Absorbs and releases perspiration quickly, thus allowing the fabric to "breathe". Linen is one of the most breathable fabrics, making it especially cool and comfortable to wear in the heat.
*Lightweight and absorbent.
* Not stretchy.
* Wrinkles easily.

* Seersucker does not refer to the fabric, but to a certain structure of fabric.
* It is usually made of cotton, but can be made from rayon or other synthetics.
* It has a puckered style so that it lifts off your skin and lets air circulate.
* Cotton seersucker is very breathable and cool in the summer.

Now that you the difference between the two, let us continue on with how to wear either one. Here are some suggestions on how and what to wear with both materials.

(1) Depending on the color of your suit or blazer, I would suggest that you wear lighter colors.  Besides the fact that softer colors are worn during the spring/summer, harder colors will take away from the effect that these materials create. I say this because darker colors attract more heat and the purpose of these materials are to lessen this effect.  Basically you will just be looking like a walking oxymoron if you decide to pair up the two.

(2) It’s ok to wear wingtips shoes with either material, but you want to give of a relax look so loafers or a casual shoe would better add to the image your trying to portray (remember no socks are a plus also).

(3) If it’s imperative that your wear a dress shirt and tie, try to wear a dress shirts that is a lighter material.  This also helps to eliminate you sweating and adds to your “relaxed” look.  If you have a choice to wear a tie or not, go for the option of not majority of the time.  An oxford shirt is what I prefer to wear because the small buttons help to keep your collar from expanding out of your jacket or blazer (unless you want to give off the Tony Montana look).

(4) I can’t stress this enough, a pocket square is essentials in today’s fashion sphere.  Be creative; try different color schemes and designs.  Your pocket square is a reflection of your personality.

(5) You can’t go wrong with a color V-neck T-shirt.  If your suit or blazer is a different color other then white, a white V-neck is always a crisp look.  But other then that, colors such as light purple, blue, pink, yellow, green, gray and orange are great also (these colors should all be pastel or soft).

(6) If you’re wearing a more casual shoe, change up your leather belt and add some color into your ensemble.

(7) If it’s a requirement to wear a tie at work or wherever you will be wearing these materials, a “skinny tie” will suit you best.  Regular size ties give off a more powerful and bold image, again you’re “relaxed” and “cool” so make sure your whole make-up complements your style.

(8) If you are a person who is just getting more into fashion, pleated pants, shorts or any pleats in that regard have become obsolete.  Unless you’re going for a specific look, stay away from this style on pant.  Flat front plants have replaced the guy who likes to sport pleats (thank God).

(9) You can mix-match your linen or seersucker colors.  For example, a white color blazer with a light blue pair of linen shorts are a good combination.  Grab your watch, throw on a nice stripe or solid oxford shirt and a pair of navy blue suede or tan leather loafers and you are on your way to the roof-top pool party downtown for a night of cocktails and laughter.

(10) Both of these materials wrinkle fairly easy, so you may want to steam them every once in the while.  But, not too much because you will ruin the material.  Actually linen looks a little bit better when it has some wrinkles in it.  Remember the casual look is the goal, so don’t give off a look that you spent an extent amount of preparation on your attire.

Not only do you want to be comfortable in these materials, you want to wear them with confidence.  Even with this advice, if you don’t carry yourself with confidence these tips will only take you so far.  The man makes the suit, not the other way around.

Adios gentlemen!

The All White event! (Happy Memorial Weekend)

Memorial Weekend has now arrived, and every weekend here on out there will be a host of all white functions to attend. The most difficult part we usually face is the challenge of abiding by this theme while still trying to be creative and different from the next person.  If you have not yet had the opportunity to attend an all white event, there will always be a person who tries too hard to stand out and does so by making a complete fool of them selves.  Trust me, you want to stay within the theme while still making a statement.  Here are some useful ideas that you can play with in order to get your mind generating for your upcoming events.

Pocket Square:
BROOKS BROTHERS
ALEXANDER OLCH

If you plan to wear an all white suit, incorporate a colorful pocket square.  This will enhance your look instantly.  A sharp pocket square will look good in any color on top of an all white based background.  Remember you want to wear lighter colors, so look into pastel colors and brighter schemes.  You can never go wrong with a plaid, striped, paisley or polka dot design.  Try to stay away from solid colors, you already have on plain white and you don’t want too look basic.

Watch:

J CREW

If you want go with a more subtle approach, switch up your wrist wear.  It’s time to pull out the canvas interchangeable time piece.  This is a quick and easy way to spruce up your watch because it has several different bands that you can choose from.  If you do not have this type of watch you need to invest in one this summer.  It will come in handy when you have those days you just want to wear a nice V-Neck of T-Shirt.

Footwear/ Belt:

TODS
JOHNSTON & MURPHY
COMMON PROJECTS

CONVERSE ALL*STARS

GANT
AMERICAN EAGLE
Now let’s say you want to sport some flat front white pants with either a button down,V-Neck top or Military shirt (long or short sleeve).  The next option for you to do is to wear some color in your footwear.  Depending on the type of event, you can wear a nice colored loafer or casual sneaker (no socks).  You don’t want to go over board with this, but this is a definite way to separate you self from the rest of the other guys.  If you want to wear a belt, remember it should complement your shoes.  I would go for a cotton belt during this season, unless you are wearing leather shoes then you would have to wear that same type of style around your waist.

Hopefully these tips will be beneficial to you while you’re brainstorming the perfect outfit. Have a blessed weekend, be safe and enjoy!

Survey says... Wingtips!

COLE HAAN
When a lady looks down to view what type of footwear a guys has on, she should NEVER be disappointed.  A gentleman always should take pride into what type of shoes he is wearing.  Whether it is a causal sneaker, dress shoe, loafer or even sandals, the first thought that should run through her mind is class.  Think about it, if you take notice to what you put on your feet (what you walk on) how do you think everything else about you will be perceived? Elegant footwear is such tasteful beauty whether it is on a man, or woman.  If you invest in a good pair of shoes and take care of them, I promise you that they well be available upon years to come.

The Wingtip shoe is so versatile because it can be worn in many different ways.  You can dress them up with a nice suit or slacks or even dress them down with a nice pair of jeans or casual shorts.  FYI- Since the summer is around the corner gentlemen, your dress socks should stay tucked away in the sock draw.  Showing a little bit of skin is a good thing during this season, it gives off a cool but confident demeanor.  Whether you prefer to wear socks or not, the Wingtip shoe should not be in question.  I will tell you this much, walking and talking has never looked this good!

Your walking RESUME The "Pocket Square"

The Pocket Square is a piece of your fashion resume.  To better describe, if it was to be on a resume, it would surely be located under the experience section.  The beauty of this small but very important material is that you can dress it up or down how ever you choose so.  When guys hear about pocket squares, most think about the traditional white cotton pocket square folded and placed so only a hint of cloth is visible.  Although one can never go wrong with that color or fold, this style is mostly worn when going to events that are more conservative.  Now as you decide to spruce your style up with the perfect finishing touch, a colorful pattern or unique combination is the icing on the cake. Also, remember that you do not want to over match your colors, some times adding a totally different color scheme is the difference maker when you choose to sport your resume.

Here are some examples on how to incorporate a pocket square when dressing.  Notice the different ways they are used and how they complement the rest of their ensemble.

Watch your Etiquette...

Leisure Watch

               Dress Watch

Etiquette has been described as the conventional requirements to social behavior and proprieties of conduct as they were established in class or community or for any occasion. This definition is according to the Webster dictionary.

One of the most ignored distinctions out there is the difference between dress watches versus sports watches!

Most people are selecting their watches not for appropriate value but just the opposite. Why wear a little silver trinket easily hidden by your shirt cuff when you have the option to wear a diamond-studded watch bigger than a Flavor Flav’s neck watch, drawing the attention to your apparently limitless disposable income?

Assuming you are a gentleman, a wristwatch should be slender, plain, and elegant if you are attending a formal setting, i.e. black & white tie and charity events; Let’s just be safe and say an event that requests the attire of hard bottoms and a suit coat. However, this may be of surprise to you but visible timepieces are traditionally not worn with formal evening dressing, because timekeeping is not considered a priority, or at least shouldn’t be.

If you so choose to indulge yourself, the watch needs to be as slim and sleek as your tuxedo. Black tie is classic formal wear; keep your timepiece in the same league with a leather strap and basic black or gold face. Keep those chunky chronographs with the compasses at home or on the fishing boat, you need to be dressy, not flashy here.

A man should never bring his ”toys” to the office; try to refrain from exercising your freedom of fashion in the work place because it will not get you the well-deserved promotion. Sport watches (no pun) should be confined to leisure time.

Though fashion rules are less strict, respect for social settings should not be. Therefore, let’s do our research on our invitations, respect the suggested attire (in its entirety) and we guarantee our respect for ourselves and whom we do business with will grow.

Ahh Yes! the "Briefcase" and "Superman"

Kenneth Cole
Briefcase- At first, handbags were men’s accessory which they abandoned when it became synonyms with women. But as men’s fashion grows more streamlined, their handbags are once again making a comeback.  If you are a business man or a guy who deals with any type of business, you should consider looking into purchasing this item.  A briefcase screams class and elegance.  The greatest attribute about this item is that it can be worn with any thing, or actually with even nothing if that’s your vice.  If you’re any thing like most guys, you aren’t the most organized individual.  The Briefcase allows you to conquer this flaw while looking good all at the same time.
J.W. Hulme Co
Duffle Bag- EVERY man needs a duffle bag, especially if you travel a lot now or plan to travel in the future.  Have you ever seen a guy walking through the airport with a classic American style vintage leather duffle bag strapped to his shoulder? He virtually looks like Superman because he gives off this persona that he is harboring classified documents with in this unique looking bag.  Whether you have seen this happen or not, you need to be that guy.  This is an item that you will have for years upon years, the more worn down it is, the better it looks.  Now honestly, how many things you can say that about?!

                                                        HISTORY
The very first handbags were literally crude pouches fashioned from leaves and animal hide. However, the first documented use of handbags is from the 14th century of Egyptian hieroglyphics which depict men carrying little sacks around the waist. Called pockets, these handbags were hung by thongs at the back of the girdle, and were used mainly by men to carry flint or money.
By the 1400s both men and women were using handbags, which gradually became a status symbol. People would adorn their handbags with jewelry or embroidery to reflect their wealth, and use expensive materials such as silk.

The term handbags actually only emerged in the 1900s, and was used to describe the luggage (similar to today’s satchels or briefcases) that men would carry. In the 50s, certain designers gained reputation for creating bold, beautiful and elegant handbags. This signaled the emergence of important designer houses: Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes. Up to this day, handbags carrying their labels command a premium price.

Who said BIG guys can't dress? The bigger you are the better!

I have been receiving a lot of feedback about how we do not have as many tips for larger guys as we do for  the slimmer one's. First we would like to apologize and we will begin to focus more on all shapes and sizes. With that being said, here are some useful tips that will help you in the process of not only buying your clothes but also how to wear them correctly. Tell us what you think. Enjoy!

                                                               TIPS

1: Colors: Color blocking is an important aspect in dressing if you are a bigger guy. Try to dress in dark solid colors since it detracts light. For the most part stay away from lighter colors. Unless you are known as the big guy who knows how to put colors together, which then you would not really need these tips on how to dress. Familiarizing your self with the concept of monochromatic dressing will greatly help you streamline you silhouette. This is the simplest trick in the book utilized by most full figure women.

2: Pants: Choose flat straight cut pants without pockets if possible. Try experimenting with pants that have slim vertical prints. Patronize pants that have longer hems as it elongates the body vertically.

3: Stripes: You want vertical, not horizontal stripes. If you like to wear stripes such as those rugby polo shirts, skip the ones that feature very wide stripes and go for thinner lines such as pinstripe.

4: Tailoring: Embrace tailoring. This is what bigger guys are least likely to do, and most importantly the thing they should do the most. These suggestions about finding clothes 'that fit you' are well-meant but not likely to be helpful. Big guys are big in some places but not in others. Don't get yourself depressed searching for items of clothing that will fit you perfectly off the rack. Yes, you may have to spend some money, but you will look and feel great. Trust me!

5: Shirts: Try not to purchase shirts with pockets on the chest. Packing pockets on your chest will only increase your chest size. But, if a shirt with pockets does manage to find a way into your wardrobe, never put anything in the pockets.

6: Suits: For suits, men of larger stature look best in a single breast 2-button suit jacket. Double breasted suit jackets look best on men with a traditional narrow waist and, although fashion manufacturers may make them in larger sizes, you'll be more flattered in a simple single breasted jacket. Make sure you get the jacket buttons with no pulling across the shoulders. This is where you pay your friend called the “Tailor” a visit to fix you up.

7: Confidence: Most big guys lack confidence. This has to change! Hardly any of us have the frame of a 6’5- 215 pound model. But, you can act like you do. Virtually all of these tips do NOT matter if you don’t carry your self properly. Woman love a guy with confidence. Build your self-esteem while you are building your new wardrobe. You’re a big guy, embrace this and make it work!

KF Bachelor of the Month (May)

Ashley Ahmad Smith (Los Angeles, CA)

Knotts Fashion sits down to catch up with Ashley Smith in the west wing of a Pasadena home located a few miles north of downtown Los Angeles on a Monday evening.  Ashley is sharing his attention with his Laptop, Blackberry and his eyes fixated on his flat screen television as we watch the Oklahoma Thunder in triple over time against the Memphis Grizzlies for the NBA playoffs. As we sit around a table full of Fiji water bottles and Haribo gummy bears. Mr. Smith is outfitted casually in grey sweat pants, and a fitted t-shirt that reads his Greek fraternity letters slightly showing the tattoos on his arms.

"Its game time baby" Smith states as he places his Apple Ipad down and tunes into the second quarter of the game.

KF: Are you upset with the Lakers loss?

AAS: No, not at all, I haven’t picked a team to root for but next year I will pick a team. Dallas did a good job but I think D-wade and the King are too much to handle this year. I’m not saying they will walk over the Celtics but Wade is a talented athlete and LeBron plays with an attitude of a gladiator.

KF: In short describe Los Angeles.
AAS: This place is always moving at 100 miles an
hour in every direction. Well, except on the freeway!

KF: What do you think attracts women to you and why?
AAS: I think women are attracted to my intellect. They often tell me I make them think of things that other guys never make them think of (laughs).

KF: Describe one of your most memorable dates that you have been on?
AAS: (shakes head) I would have to say the time I went to a book store with a young lady. It was cool because we walked around peeking at each others books and then we sat down and ate ice cream talking about the books and all other kind of stuff. To me it was as if we became each others books in a store full of books.

KF: Did she show you all of her pages?
AAS: She was a lady, she didn't show me
all of her pages… That time (laughs).

KF: Tell me about the most romantic thing that has ever been done for you.
AAS: Sign a permission slip and then I'll tell you, until then my lips are sealed.

KF: Do you want to get married?
AAS: Of course I do.
KF: When?
AAS: I’m not sure when, but I’m guessing some time before I reach the age of 30. I want to enjoy my wife for many years.
KF: Do you have a woman in mind at the moment?
AAS: (sighs) I don't.

KF: You seem like a well put together guy. Does your future wife have to fit a certain mold?
AAS: I don’t like to set limitations on what she has to be or what she can and cannot bring to the relationship. That makes me shallow and limits my chances of meeting an amazing person don’t you think?. So no, she does not have to fit a mold. My only request for her is be honest. Hold on!

Ashley excuse's him-self from the room to take a Skype call from a friend in Texas whom he has not seen in a while.

AAS: Sorry about that, the time difference makes it hard to stay in touch with people you know?
KF: Yea, I understand.
AAS: Now, where were we sir?

KF: We left off about your dating requirements.
AAS: Oh yea, Honesty…That’s all!

KF: How do you feel about some of the recent fashion trends?
AAS: I love what people are doing right now. A lot of retro looks are resurfacing in many areas. I see younger crowds dressed in some of the styles that my mother draped me in during the late 80's and early 90's. Witch is an indication of history repeating itsself might I add.

KF: Who are some designers you like to wear?
AAS: I don't have a favorite, but I am always pleased with Hugo Boss and Tom Ford. There craftsmanship wins me over every time. Ermenegildo Zenga suits have been a favorite as of late because the quality of fabric.

KF: Any advice for men that want to dress better?
AAS: Find a tailor. Find a tailor Find a tailor (nods head).
KF: Last question, what do you want out of life?
AAS: Happiness, that over rules all things.

By this time, the game is over and the Oklahoma Thunder looks as if they will be advancing in the next round of the playoffs. I tell Mr. Smith that this concludes our interview and kindly thank him for his time and hospitality. Ashley replies by saying “mi casa su casa”. As we wrap up every thing AAS grabs a bottle of Grey Goose out his cabinet and poor’s him self a cocktail. He asks if I would join him and of course I could not decline after he was so generous to allow me to come into his home.

AAS: It’s a time for business and a time for pleasure. It is pleasure time my friend (checks Blackberry and picks up Ipad).

Cheers!

The Perfect Beach Workout for Summer '11

1. Biceps:

-The Barbell Curl
*Sets: 3-4
*Reps: 8-10

The barbell curl is the best of the free-weight exercises available for bicep growth. The most important thing to remember with the barbell curl is strict form. No swinging, jerking or movement of the shoulders, back or legs. Grab the barbell with an underhand grip shoulder width grip. Stand up straight with your feet about shoulder width apart. Curl the bar up toward your chest keeping your elbows locked in place close to your sides. Lower the weight slowly, and return to the start position and repeat.

-Cable Bicep Curls
*Sets: 2-4
*Reps: 8-10

These are a good exercise for growth in the bicep. Although free weights are superior to cables for many reasons, cable curls have the advantage of maintaining tension on the biceps all the way through motion of the lift. Curl the cable weight upward toward the chest and let the cable weight return the arm to the lower resting position and repeat. You’ll feel this most at the top of the lift, where you have to squeeze harder than with barbell curls.

-Incline Dumbbell Curls
*Sets: 2-4
*Reps: 8-10

Incline dumbbell curls that allow you to add more bulk to the muscles as part of the bicep workout. Sit back on 45-60 degree incline bench. With arms hanging down straight, position two dumbbells with palms facing inward. With elbows back to sides, raise one dumbbell and rotate forearm until forearm is vertical and palm faces shoulder. Lower to original position and repeat with opposite arm. Continue to alternate between sides.

2. Chest:

-Pushups
*Sets: 4-5
*Reps: 40-50

Get into pushup position, with your weight evenly distributed between your toes, hands, legs, hips and back in a straight line. lower and raise your body by bending your elbows, making sure that your arm angle is 90° at the bottom of the movement.

*If you want a greater challenge, try doing decline pushups with your feet raised on a bench or a stability ball, which places greater strain on your chest muscles. Or try diamond pushups, with your hands together.

-Dumbbell Press
*Sets: 4-5
*Reps: 10;8;6;4;2

Lie down on a flat bench, take one dumbbell in each hand, bend your elbows so that your hands are by your shoulders with your palms facing your feet, and use your chest muscles to press the weights up and back down. For variety, you can try these with a slight incline in the bench, which places more emphasis on your upper chest, or on a decline, which places more emphasis on your lower chest.

-Incline Bench Press
*Sets: 3-4
*Reps: 8;6;4;2

On an incline bench, using a slightly wider-than-shoulder-width grip, lower the bar to your chest (toward the collarbone). Drive the bar upward and slightly backward (toward the head) until your arms are fully extended. Bring the bar down until it touches your chest and extend your elbows completely at the end of the lift.

3. Abbs:

-Side plank
*Sets: 2-6
*Reps: 30 sec

Lie on your left side and prop your upper body up on your left forearm. Raise your hips until your body forms a straight line from ankles to shoulders. Now brace your abs and hold for 30 seconds. Roll over onto your right side and repeat. Rest 30 seconds.

-Swiss-ball jackknife
*Sets: 2-3
*Reps: 15-20

In pushup position with your feet on a Swiss ball, raise your hips and pull the ball forward. Make sure you have 30 seconds of rest between sets.

-Hip Raise/Leg Raise
*Sets: 3-4
*Reps: 10

Lie down on a flat bench with your legs up and perpendicular to the bench (hold the bench behind your head for stability). Lift your hips slightly off the bench by contracting your lower abs, hold for three seconds, and lower your hips. Keep your back flat on the bench, your legs straight and lower your legs until they almost form a straight line with the rest of your body. Hold for a count of three and bring them back to the starting position.

4. Legs:

-Dumbbell Bulgarian Split Squat
*Sets: 4-5
*Reps: 12-15

Start in lunge position with your rare foot on a bench. Then lower your back knee towards the floor, and stop just short of touching the ground. Your knee should end above your foot. Then push back up to the start position.

-Dumbbell Squat Jump
*Sets: 3-4
*Reps: 8-10

-Descend into a squat position by pushing your hips back and keeping your heels on the ground. Once your thighs are parallel with the floor, push back up and jump as high as you can. absorb the landing by descending back into a squat position.

-Standing Calf Raises
*Sets: 4-5
*Reps: 12-15

While standing or sitting in the machine, lower the weight until you feel your calves stretch. Then push the weight back up feeling your calves flex at the top of the exercise. Make sure you perform this exercise at a slower speed. About 3 seconds per rep.

5. Back:

-Arm Dumbbell Row
*Sets: 3-4
*Reps: 8-10

Kneel on a flat exercise bench with one knee, you other foot placed on the floor beside the bench. Support your upper body by placing your hand on the end of the bench. With your other hand grab a dumbbell. Keep your back flat and let the dumbbell hang down at arms length.

Keeping your elbow close to your side, pull the dumbbell directly upwards until it touches the side of your torso. Squeeze your back muscles for a second to maximize the peak contraction. Lower the dumbbell back to the starting position. Do the same for your other arm.

-Lat Pulldowns
*Sets: 3-4
*Reps: 12;10;8;4

Attach a straight bar to a high pulley. Grab the bar a bit wider then shoulder width. Sit down at the machine and place your knees under the knee pad. Straighten your arms and let your lats stretch. Hold this position for a second. Arch your back and pull the bar down in front, try to touch the bar to your chest. Hold this position for a second to maximize the peak contraction. Straighten your arms to the starting position. Repeat.

*You can vary your grip to work your back from different angles. (i.e. wide grip, narrow grip, overhand, underhand, etc.)

-Chin Ups / Pull Ups
*Sets: 2-3
*Reps: 6-10

Grab a chin up bar with your hands a bit wider then shoulder width apart. Bend your legs so that your body is hanging from the chin up bar. Straighten your arms and let your lats stretch. Hold this position for a second. Arch your back slightly and pull yourself up to the bar until your chin is over the bar. Hold this position for a second to maximize the peak contraction. Slowly lower yourself to the starting position.

6. Shoulders:

-Seated Shoulder Press
*Sets: 3-4
*Reps: 8-10

Seat yourself at the end of a bench and place your dumbbells on your upper thighs (always your upper thighs with this exercise, not on the ground as you want to shorten the distance you need to lift these over your head). Grab each weight so that they are facing left to right not frontward to backward and lift them over your head simultaneously. Now slowly lower each one until it is about one inch away from your shoulder.

-Shoulder Flys
*Sets: 3-4
*Reps: 10

Stand up right and hold 2 weights in front of your chest. Bend over at a 45 degree angle and lift each weight outward in a manner that resembles flying (hence the name “flys”) and then lower each weight to your waist.

-Shoulder Shrugs
*Sets: 4-5
*Reps: 4-6

Stand upright holding each weight frontward to backward. Slowly lift each weight using your shoulders and without lifting your arms. In other words, lift each weight in a “shrug” like fashion. As you lift, make sure you lift in a rolling motion, not just straight up and down.

10 Important tips for guys to know before they go on the "First Date"

10. Smell Good: Not to the point where you are overly offensive because you’ve bathed in your favorite fragrance.

9. Dressed properly for the Occasion: It’s the first date, this is your chance to impress her with your sense of style.

8. Clean Vehicle: Make sure your car in cleaned. If your car is messy what do you think she will think about your apartment/ house? If you aren’t as tidy as you would like to be, spend an hour or so cleaning both the in/outside of your vehicle before you head out.

7. Chivalry: Open doors, pull out her chair and do NOT hunk the horn when you arrive to her residence. Be a gentleman, walk up to her home and greet her with flowers and a smile.

6. Proper Table Manners: Try to avoid messy meals such as spaghetti or any foods that you have to use your fingers. This is an easy way to lose brownie points in her eyes.

                                                                  Top Five

5. Good Hygiene: Women appreciate a well groomed guy. Clean nails, good smelling breath, and NO body odor. You are potentially the guy who she will be talking about for the next couple of weeks.

4. Make the Date Enjoyable: Dinner is always a safe choice, but don’t just stop there. Add in a play or a nice walk outside or even ice cream. Either way, be creative in order to make your date memorable.

3. Good Conversation: You are both trying to get know one another right? Make sure you ask the right questions that lead to her opening up.

2. Pay Attention: Make good eye contact- Women absolutely love feeling like they are the center of your attention. Again, you are trying to get to know her, so make her feel like you are interested in what she is saying

1. Sense of Humor: Women love a guy that can make them laugh. If you have a great sense of humor, this can possible substitute for two or maybe even three of the above tips. The amount of times that you have her laughing through out the date is a clear indicator of how much she is enjoying your company.

Who doesn't approve of the SPRING!

Men's tank tops are back!

Since the plain, thin white cotton "wife beaters" that we were all a custom to, now we have a variety of fabrics, colors and styles that have become a fashion staple. They aren't just underwear anymore, they can be worn in the spring/summer with a great pair of jeans, slacks or shorts. I know there are questions such as "What if I have a thinner physique" or "How are they supposed to fit since they are not considered underwear anymore". The beauty of this item is that it looks good on most sizes, and they aren't usually made passed a certain size. So if they have it in your size then you can sport it. Now, when it comes to how it should fit depends on your own style. With your body frame being slimmer, you can wear your Tank Top a little more fitted. If your body structure is slightly bigger, than compliment it with a baggier fit. Trust, you won't look bad if it's loose fitting. Be creative, try different combinations such as Chuck Taylor’s (No socks) , with dress slacks (No belt) and a nice Tank Top. Or you can even wear a pair of flip flops with shorts and a Tank Top, lastly adding a COOL hat (Fedora, baseball cap, Snap Back etc..) Either way it is YOUR style so create the image that you want to portray!
